Wes Edens the Chairman and Founder of Fortress Investment Group

Wesley Edens combined efforts and ideas with the current chief executive officer of the Fortress Investment Group, Randal Nardone, to found it in 1998.

Ever since the founding of the Fortress Investment Group, Wes Edens has been a person of interest to the general public. He is a prominent American businessman, a sports-team owner, and a private-equity investor.

Also, he is a father to four children residing in New York. Wesley Robert Edens was born on October 30, 1961. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance at the Oregon State University and is commonly recognized for his contribution in the founding of the Fortress Investment Group.

In a recent article by Aaron Kirchfeld, Wesley Robert Edens and the Nassef Sawiris, an Egyptian billionaire, had agreed to buy Aston Villa. They will do this through the acquisition of the majority of the stakes in Aston Villa soccer team.

Wes Edens has decided to invest money in the soccer team to ensure their success. Before the agreement of this settlement, Aston Villa soccer team almost missed the rewarding Premier League during the last football season as a result of lack of proper funding. Wes Edens will, therefore, acquire about 55% of the team’s stake which is worth 30 million pounds.

In some other recent article, it highlights updates concerning Edens’ Brightline train. Wes Edens talks of plans to expand the Brightline to connect different cities such as Orlando, Miami, and Tampa.

He further states that their goal at Brightline train is to locate other areas are too long to drive and too short to fly to connect them. This action is geared towards the expansion of the tourism sector as well as connecting such areas through a train system. As we speak, Brightline has begun limited service in the spaces between Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach and it is expanding its services to Miami.

Wes Edens has the vision to extend these services to highly-congested cities such as Atlanta and Charlotte, Houston and Dallas, and Dallas and Austin.
